f you’re family is like ours, you love traveling to different parts of
the world. You find it fascinating to visit exotic locales with
beautiful tropical beaches where you can go snorkeling or scuba

You may have thought vacations like these were beyond your reach.

We thought purchasing a Timeshare was the only way to take the
family on these types of vacations every year. We had seen the ads
and read the hype about Timeshares, and had gone so far as to
consider a few resort options.  However, we never really made the
commitment and continued searching for a better way to vacation at
a resort.

So, we became serious about finding a vacation plan to fit our needs.
We did in depth research, evaluating what was available. We asked
opinions of friends and acquaintances; many who own or previously
owned Timeshares. We were still thinking a Timeshare was what we
needed. But we discovered a better way… more on that later.

about Timeshares…


The initial up-front investment can be $10,000 or more. In most
instances, this is a Real Estate transaction with all the title fees,
closing costs, escrow fees, financing and interest expense.

Now adding in the annual maintenance fees, which range from $600
to $1,200/yr, and a monthly mortgage payment, you can see it
becomes expensive.

This was just the beginning. We soon learned about the difficulties of
exchanging weeks, complicated point systems, the limited time of
availability, and being locked in to one location or family of resorts. In
some cases exchanging time or resorts requires up to 1 year lead time.

Many of our friends who have purchased Timeshares in the past are
trying to resell them to escape the high maintenance fees and
schedule limitations. And, they would like the freedom to travel to
other destinations without additional expense.

They are finding it difficult to get out of their Timeshares and
not lose money.

After researching Timeshares we decided the expense and limitations
involved were not for us, and it looked as if vacationing in luxury was
something we could not have without complications. So, another year
of the popup camper at the KOA or we would be staying in hotels.
I don’t know about you, but I've never felt at home in a hotel or motel.
